Eliminating barriers
to doing business in Ukraine

With the assistance and professional involvement of the Business Ombudsman Council, an agreement was reached and a contract for the delivery and removal of wagons was concluded.

At this stage, the conclusion of this contract removes the barriers to accessing logistics infrastructure that served as the grounds for our appeal. We are grateful to the Council’s team for effectively protecting the legitimate interests of private business and contributing to transparent cooperation with state monopolies.

Thank you for your help in organizing the meeting with the State Customs Service of Ukraine regarding the review of Company ENEY’s complaints, for the time you dedicated to the meeting, and for the constructive dialogue and support.

For two years, I had been sending letters and complaints to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, calling the hotline — all without any result. I only received formal replies. After communicating with you, the “magic words” in the complaint to the SCSU — “I kindly ask you to review the complaint with the participation of representatives of the Business Ombudsman’s Office” — and including your email addresses in copy made it possible to start a dialogue.

We would especially like to highlight the investigator’s professional and measured approach, as well as her sincere desire to help us and to establish the truth. We can state that the Council’s position, set out in its letter to the Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine regarding our complaint, was articulated in a way we could not have even hoped for, significantly better than our own understanding and ability to present our position. This demonstrates the high professionalism of the Council’s specialists and gives us hope that the country’s development is moving in the right direction, with effective tools emerging to support businesses in disputes with government authorities.

We highly appreciate the professional level of your work, particularly the quality of the legal support provided, the effective communication, and the prompt responses to all inquiries. Thanks to the well-coordinated efforts of the Council’s team, it was possible to achieve a fair result and successfully resolve an issue of exceptional importance to our company.

Our company has already had a positive experience of cooperation with you in the past, and this time your team once again demonstrated a high level of professionalism, efficiency, and dedication. Thanks to your persistent work, we were once again able to protect the lawful interests of our business and successfully restore the license for wholesale fuel trade, which had been suspended by the tax authority in violation of the current legislation of Ukraine.

It is owing to your credibility and active position that together we managed to do the almost impossible thing - to be heard by the state body and have the decisions on customs value adjustment cancelled administratively.
